Throughout the three papers that we wrote in this class for each one, we had different sources that we needed to use textual evidence to support our claim. One thing that we needed to engage on is integrating evidence into our papers. For my third paper, I added a large amount of evidence to back up my statements and that evidence can be seen below. The quote found below is not just stated at the beginning of a sentence but rather it is immersed in the sentence. Because lead the sentence with “Alexander would define a success narrative as..” this leads to the quote. Along with leading into the quote I also explained to quote after stating it. I put the quote into my own words and says my take on the quote and what I think it means. I think from the beginning of the semester to the end I have learned to integrate the quotes into my paper making it easier for the readers to understand why the quote is there. Also my explaining of the evidence I think is much more detailed and I made sure that it is there, rather than before when I sometimes wouldn’t even explain the evidence I chose.
